Rolling Stone reports January 6th organizers met with members of the GOP

October 25, 2021
What else is each side focusing on?
  • Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) offered the organizers a “blanket pardon.”
  • The representatives and organizers were in contact on January 6th.
  • Republicans in Congress continue to oppose any investigations into January 6th.
  • The planning meetings with protest organizers were about the Congressional certification vote, not violence or marching on the Capitol.
  • The Rolling Stone report excludes key facts until the very end.
The Narrative

This story proves that several GOP representatives were involved in the January 6th insurrection. They should be held accountable and expelled from Congress for failing to stop the violence. The GOP has opposed all measures to investigate the storming of the Capitol because they know they are guilty.

Republicans who met with the event organizers did so, not to promote violence, but to plan for a peaceful event. Rolling Stone’s framing of this story is disingenuous.

How could a reasonable person come to think this?
